In your face: there's no escaping the wall

By now we are in occupied east Jerusalem, which is dotted with illegal settlements. We see the wall of separation - a vast, aggressive, concrete monster, cutting clean across roads, routes that have existed for years. It used to be possible to walk from Bethany to Jerusalem in five minutes: now, a massive diversion is required. The wall surrounds Bethlehem on three sides.

The wall is 9m high and 750km long. It cost $3.5bn to build. Architecturally, the wall is as brutal as its existence is shocking. Yet, all along, it is decorated with graffiti, suggesting that people's spirits remain indomitable, however hard life is.

Guerilla graffiti artist Banksy was here, of course, in 2005, adding his own particular spin on the wall. You can see his work here.

  1. A Wall says it all. There is nothing I can add other than, I wish it didnt exist. It is like separation from God.

  2. The wall seems impressive in structure but not in its purpose. Even if its height reached the heavens Christ continues to be with His warriors as He lifts them in spirits.

Your daily synopsis of the days have been wonderful and exciting. Thank you so much for taking the time to pass all of this along. If you run across Sarah and Brian from Scotland tell them MM continues to keep them in my thoughts and prayers.
